At Oak Park Dental Care, we are thrilled to bring CEREC technology to our friends and neighbors in the Oak Park community. This service allows us to provide superior care to you and your family in a convenient, timely manner using a proprietary 3D CAD software. You no longer need to come in for impressions and return at a later date to have your work completed. With CEREC, you can have your procedure completed – from start to finish – in just a few hours.

It’s that simple! If you have ever had a dental procedure using “old fashioned” techniques, you will be absolutely thrilled with the convenience and efficiency of CEREC technology.

This is how CEREC
technology works:

  1. The area that needs to be restored is first photographed. We store this as a three dimensional digital model, which allows our systems to determine the restoration shape.
  2. A proprietary 3D CAD software is then used to further refine that model.
  3. Once your model is complete, we use a milling machine to carve the actual restoration out of a ceramic block. This is done using diamond head cutters under precise computer control.
  4. Once the restoration is complete, resin is used to bond it to the tooth.

What to Expect From a CEREC Crown

Crowns are perhaps the most common application for CEREC technology, and patients often wonder what to expect from the procedure. Fortunately, it’s all very simple: using the technology that we just described for you, crowns can often be completed in about 2-2.5 hours.

Following your appointment, you can expect beautiful results that last. CEREC restorations look and feel great, and they are reliable. These strong, durable crowns are metal-free, and because of the technology that is used, they offer the best contour and fit of any restoration technique that is available today.

Without a doubt, we are are positive that you will love your CEREC restoration. Whatever procedure you are having, rest assured that the results will far exceed your expectations. As a highly experienced, long-time CEREC provider in Oak Park, IL, we recommend this technology with confidence.
